Shining on through the Power of Performance…
After far too long an absence, Grace Christian High School performing arts students triumphantly returned to the stage on February 6th to film A Royal Renaissance, a celebration of drama and music.
“It lifted my soul to see these students back where they belong,” says Becky Boyette, drama director for Grace Christian High School. “To laugh and cry at their drama scenes, to hear their voices soaring, reminded me that after the dark days of the plague came the beauty of the Renaissance. I can’t wait for our families to watch the video and hopefully feel as inspired as I did.”
The video A Royal Renaissance is the class project of Mrs. Boyette’s fall Acting course. Her students performed classical monologues and dialogues, as well as individual musical pieces and a madrigal directed by GCS Fine Arts Director Karen Palumbo.
“COVID has been so hard on the fine arts,” says Karen, “but we are committed to featuring our students in new, creative, and safe ways and pressing on through God’s grace. It’s time we returned to striving for excellence for God’s glory.”
Please celebrate our talented students as they entertain, inspire, and overcome. The video is free to stream for all GCS friends and families. You can access it via the following link:
