We will be using submissions in WASH-RAG promotional and educational materials, so there are great bragging rights in addition to the prize money. 

Is This Your Last WASH Newsletter?

In December, we will be moving to a new software system for creating and distributing the monthly WASH Newsletter. In addition to WASH-RAG members, who always receive the Newsletter, we have added thousands of names over the past decade at Conventions and World Water Summits to the Newsletter subscription list.

So, if you do not receive the January 2025 SPECIAL Joint ESRAG / WASH-RAG WASH Newsletter, which is due out at the end of December, you are a non-member subscriber we could not load into the new system.

The best way to continue receiving the WASH newsletter is to become a WASH -RAG member.

WASH Ambassadors Get Training

Through a generous donation by Wallace Genetics and the support of Emory University, six WASH Ambassadors from around the world participated in the online certificate course: Fundamentals of WASH in Healthcare Facilities. 

Also, this month, over 75 WASH Ambassadors participated in a WASH Ambassador Orientation program. The program has expanded significantly this year, and we wanted to make the Ambassadors aware of their responsibilities at the District level, their role in encouraging and assisting with Club WASH projects, and the resources available. You can watch a recording of the Orientation to understand the program, which might encourage you to apply. 

Find a Partner and Obtain Project Funding

Our members often ask, "Where can I find an International Partner?" and "How do I get other clubs to support my Project?" 

This fall, we released our WASH Project Portal, where you can submit your Global Grant information. The process to submit your project is easy and straightforward. You can also submit your Global Grant, Community Assessment, and any additional information (e.g. photos, promotional pamphlets, etc.) 

When to Invite the Mayor to Your Project?

"First off, it is not your project. It is the Community's Project," which is how John Oldfield, WASH Advocacy Expert, might start answering that question. He would likely follow up with, "Not when00 you are cutting a ribbon, but at the first meeting you hold to discuss the project."

"Six Key Elements for Successful WASH Advocacy" outlines the steps to implement and sustain a WASH project. 

Forming a District WASH Committee

District 5450 WASH Committee was formed over 17 years ago. This active committee holds monthly Zoom calls on WASH topics and has developed a well-respected annual WASH Symposium.
