Ogemaw County EDC - RFL Application
You may have heard that the Ogemaw Economic Development Corp. (EDC) has added the tool of business loans in working to help improve economic activity in the county. We are in our first application cycle and will have subsequent cycles approximately quarterly as long as we have available funds to lend.
A business loan from our Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) is meant to supplement what commercial lenders might do, that is, to help fund “the last mile”, bridging a commercial loan with the need, or in regard to something that has a little higher risk from a commercial lender might shy away.
Our RLF committee will diligently evaluate loan applications, be looking for a well-developed business plan and want to make a collateral-secured loan. Our interest rates will depend on factors such as risk and are going to be 1-3% above prime. We encourage you to think about how your business can grow or change and what it would take to do that. Most of our loans will likely be in the range of $5,000 – 40,000 as we are limited by the percentage of the fund that we can loan at any one time.
We also want to work with borrowers to provide business guidance during the life of the loan so that you succeed. Your pay back of the loan provides us the capital to reinvest with others. In this round, we are currently accepting completed applications until March 18. Please send your application to Penny Payea, Ogemaw County EDC, 2389 M-76, West Branch, MI 48661. If you have questions, please contact Penny Payea, EDC Director at 989-345-1090.
