EQUAL POSITION, PAY, AND POWER FOR ALL BUSINESSWOMEN
OCTOBER 2022

Happy Fall, it has been quite the quarter for the WBC!

First, thank you for your participation at the WBC Women Business Collaborative (WBC) Action for Impact Annual Summit! We had over 4,000 people registered and have received accolades for the content, high caliber speakers, and the presentation of the WBC Excellence in Gender Equity and Diversity CEO and Trailblazer awards. You can watch the panels again on the WBC website.

Yesterday the WBC hosted the Modern Leadership Roundtable in New York with Diligent. We had over 85 participants and featured CEOs, C-Suite leaders, and prominent change agents who are stepping forward to put sustainability, diversity, and accountability at the heart of business. We heard from dynamic leaders within the WBC community on how we all are driving impact and accountability for gender equity, DEI, and corporate purpose. The recordings from this day-long event feature women board directors, CEOs, chief diversity officers, and key partner and corporate leaders driving purposeful leadership with companies and community and championing purpose from talent to the marketplace, and highlighting best practices and impact in driving corporate purpose. Please watch the recordings here starting October 21.

We have picked our first cohort for the Women Cyber Governance Collaborative and the application is still open. Apply now as spots are limited. WCGC is a partnership between WBC and DDN with sponsorship from the Gula Foundation. The mission is to equip women board directors and executive leadership with the capability to effectively govern the real and growing risks to organizations from cyber threats. Together we will increase the pipeline of highly qualified cyber-savvy women and increase the number of these women in executive leadership and board director positions.

On September 22nd we released the annual Women CEOS in America report. Women comprise 8.8% of Fortune 500 CEOs and in the report, you can read about which companies these women head and the actions being taken to ensure more women rise into CEO positions across industries.

Our September Women Joining Public Boards report powered by Equilar shows that companies continue to diversify board composition and drive the path to parity. In September women comprised 30% of new appointments to the boards of public companies, with 23% of those women identifying as women of color. We continue to track and analyze representation at this level.

Our October events included the final Localizing a Global People Disabilities Strategy, and an Ally of Her Event on Why Every Company Should have an Allyship Program. Our next webinar is on Business Women and Wealth with Aspiriant on October 24th, and our Q4 All Partner Call is October 31. We look forward to your participation!

We are also continuing our #WBCFasterTogether Linkedin Live series every Thursday. Make sure to follow us on LinkedIn for our weekly episode and other WBC updates! LinkedIn Lives provides an incredible opportunity for us to learn from and connect with the champions in this work. Each live chat serves as a great space to network, learn, and get different perspectives on the work we are doing in the movement. We hope you’ll invite others to join.

We look forward to celebrating all we can do together to continue to drive action for impact and change in the business landscape!

C4G brought together thought leaders from Fortune 1000 companies, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations to learn more about DEIB initiatives in their organizations and garner additional perspectives from the field. These professionals were selected because of their DEIB expertise and ability to execute organizational change.

CEO Beth Thomas, Julie Kantor, and the Change 4 Growth team conducted a series of roundtable discussions to learn what these DEIB leaders thought. Their insights will enlighten you on what is happening inside some of the most respected organizations and why OCM is essential. Their opinions and experiences, as well as best practices, challenges, and practical solutions, are discussed in our new report: The Case for an Organizational Change Management Approach to a Sustainable DEIB+B (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) Initiative.

While many of our discussions focused on positive outcomes and best practices, we also uncovered challenges that can be addressed by taking an OCM approach to DEIB. The opinions of the roundtable participants included in this report are verbatim. We thought it would be valuable for you to hear directly from them.
