Here we are two months into a brand new year and your Steering Committee has an exciting year planned for our Women’s Business Connections members to gather and enjoy and support each other. We enjoyed an informative luncheon in January at Flex Office, hearing some important bookkeeping tips as we prepare for tax time, and in February we invited you to participate in mentoring lunches with Muskego high school students.

This month we invite you to join us at the Chamber Gala on Thursday, March 13. Use your membership in WBC to sit at the WBC table with other members, and save on your dinner ticket, but you must register by March 1. Please consider donating a basket for the gala auction, too. Please bring them to the chamber office as soon as possible, with a description, value, and your information attached. You can participate in the auction in-person at the gala or online. Watch for details.

Please add these dates to your calendars and watch for more details closer to these events.

  • Thursday, April 14: we will gather at Fox River Fibers for a BYO lunch with presentations from two of our members.
  • Tuesday, May 17: We will meet for social time over lunch at a local establishment.
  • Friday, June 3: We encourage you to participate in Jammin’ On Janesville as our June gathering.
  • Wednesday, July 13: We plan to gather at Taste of Muskego.
  • Wednesday, August 17: We will enjoy dinner and drinks at our annual picnic in the evening.

Our committee was saddened to hear of the fire at our founder, Beth Schmitt’s house, on February 14. The family is ok and safe, but presently displaced for some time to come. Our thoughts and hearts go out to the Schmitt family during this unsettling time, and we would like to help her family. One way to help is by donating to the fundraiser through the firefighters organization.

Here is a link to the story and the fundraiser.

You are also welcome to join us in contributing local gift cards or products from your business as we put a chamber gift donation together for the family. Feel free to drop items off at the chamber office through the end of March.

Please continue to support, celebrate, and collaborate with our members and their businesses. Follow the Muskego Chamber and Women’s Business Connections pages on Facebook for latest updates and event news.

And let us know if your business would like to host a gathering or has news to share.
