Blue Bird Day Program is proud to announce the Grand Opening of our new West Loop Clinic located at 1233 W Adams Street. To celebrate, we will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Tuesday September 6th from 4:30-5:30 pm with the West Central Association - Chamber of Commerce for our staff, clients, and community. The 17,000 sq ft facility, formerly the Social Security Building, has been transformed to tailor to the sensory needs of our clientele, providing visually clean therapeutic treatment rooms and sensory retreats.
Blue Bird Day offers intensive therapy to children ages 2-7 with autism and other sensory and developmental conditions in a Preschool and Kindergarten-like setting. Instead of teachers, we employ specialized therapists who work together to help their clients improve learning, socialization, speech, and sensory regulation. Each child is cared for based on their unique goals, and our relationship-based therapists develop individual treatment plans that are regularly updated as our clients grow.
“We are thrilled to continue to expand our business in service of the neurodiverse community. We believe in our intensive therapeutic model and the positive impact it has on the entire family. We see that as our clients succeed at our center, they build the confidence and skills to succeed across all settings- such as at home, in our community and at school.” said Dr. Laura Mraz, Occupational Therapist, Child Development Specialist, and founder of Blue Bird Day.
This program is ideal for children with autism, sensory processing disorders, ADHD, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Paraprofessionals, Physical Therapists, Developmental Therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Behavioral Therapists, Social Workers, Nutritionists, and a Neuropsychologist - all focused on the growth and well-being of our clients and their caregivers.
All our therapists are highly trained and knowledgeable experts in their field, and we provide mentorship, professional development, and continuing education courses to further promote the growth and development of our staff. We are committed to continually improving our services, incorporating emerging research and evidence-based practice to support our clients and families and promote the autonomy of all neurodiverse individuals.
