Ms. Morris has entered her 1st grade students at WCA into the Poetic Power poetry contest for six years. This is the first year Kindergarteners have entered into this contest. Since the first year WCA opened, there have been at least 5 first grade students who have been chosen to have their poem published in the poetry contest book. We wish these students good luck in the poetry contest.

Norovirus
There has been an increase in gastrointestinal illness outbreaks reported in child care facilities and schools that appears to be consistent with norovirus.
Norovirus is a highly contagious illness that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, a low grade fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, headache, body aches, and chills.
Noroviruses are very contagious and spread easily from person to person by eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus, touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus then putting your fingers in your mouth, or having direct contact with someone who is infected with norovirus, such as by caring for them or sharing food or eating utensils with them.
When norovirus or other gastrointestinal illness enters a child care facility or schools, it can spread rapidly. Please keep your child home if you feel they have these symptoms to help stop the spread.
Tri- County Health Department & Douglas County
As of April 16, 2021, Douglas County is no longer governed by the State of Colorado Dial nor any public health order issued by Tri-County Health Department (TCHD). This opt-out decision impacts the entirety of Douglas County and its municipalities. A statewide mask order issued by the Governor’s Office on April 3, 2021, will continue to require that a mask be worn in public indoor spaces. Due to this severance, World Compass Academy will follow the guidance of CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment). Tri-County Health Department and CDPHE were aligned in all school guidelines, therefore no changes of the severance will affect World Compass Academy as the year comes to an end.
