Administrator Note: IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Dear World Compass Academy Community,
We are in the midst of CMAS, and our staff and students have been working tremendously hard. We appreciate the support from home.
As of Monday (4/12/21), students in grades Pre-K-4th grade will not be required to wear masks when they are in their cohort classrooms. They will be required to wear them in the halls and all other places in the building with the exception of their classrooms. This is inline with the governor's mandate in regards to children in this age group. Our middle schoolers (5-8) will still be required to wear masks even while in their classrooms. The mask requirements are not set in stone and are subject to change as a result of state Covid-19 levels and government mandates.
Thank you for your continued support!
Warm Regards,
Bethany, Krista, and Amanda

Student Fees 2021-2022 School Year
|
|
We want to remind you that World Compass has revised our student fee structure for the 2021/2022 school year.
Grades P-4
For grades P-4, the student fee will be $275. The increased fee amount will cover the cost of school supplies (excepting the student backpack and lunchbox). WCA will not publish school supply lists and parents will not be asked to purchase supplies in August.
Grades 5-8
For grades 5-8, the student fee will be $325. This fee amount will cover the cost of school supplies (excepting the student backpack and lunchbox). WCA will not publish school supply lists and parents will not be asked to purchase supplies in August. In addition to school supplies, the middle school student fee will also cover the cost of a rent-to-own program for the 1:1 chromebook issued to students in fifth grade and the chromebook case used in grades sixth-eighth.
Payments
All student fees will be paid through MySchoolBucks (MSB). There are no additional fees charged to families to utilize the electronic payment platform. The student fee will be billed in two invoices. The first invoice will be for 50% of the student fee owed was due on or before April 5. The second invoice will be for the remainder of the balance and will be due on or before May 3.
IMPORTANT: Parents must create a MySchoolBucks account for EACH child in order to receive an invoice and pay the student fee. If you do not already have a MSB account, please go HERE to sign-up. You will need to know your student(s) six-digit DCSD Student Number, which can be found in your Infinite Campus parent account in the upper left corner next to the student picture. For questions on creating an account, please contact MySchoolBucks directly by calling 855-832-5226 from 7am - 7pm Eastern or by email: parentsupport@myschoolbucks.com. - We are seeing an increase of kids losing their masks or soiling their masks. Please make sure you have your student pack a spare mask.
- I know we are all feeling rejuvenated with spring arriving and we all are fatigued with COVID talk. But COVID is not over with us. Please see the Return To Learn algorithm for determining when your student should come to school. If your student has a fever, cough, shortness of breath or loss of taste/ smell that lasts longer than 24 hours, OR minor symptoms that last longer than 48 hours, the CDC recommends you get them tested for COVID or isolate for 10 days. -
If you need to obtain a free COVID test, you can pre-register for the Douglas County Fairgrounds testing site. This is a drive up service and you have results in about 24 hours. Return to Learn here. https://www.douglas.co.us/covid19-testing/events/
- Seasonal allergies have arrived. Please see the diagram below for information on Seasonal allergies vs COVID-19 symptoms.

Spring is upon us, and our sports programs are still on "pause". Our school and athletic conferences main concern is keeping our students in school. We are trying to not mix cohorts and athletics would mix cohorts. We will continue to track the safety of sports through CHSAA and DCSD. Thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions please contact the Athletic Director, Lisa Carpenter
