Principal Note

Dear World Compass Academy Community,

It was wonderful to see so many families at our picnic last week. I enjoyed watching the kids play together and was encouraged watching how many of our returning students reached out to the newest members of our school community. 

As we look forward to being back in the building in just a few short weeks, I would like to challenge each student to commit to completing one act of kindness at school during the first week. No act is too small. Even saying hello to a new student or helping pick up a dropped pencil will help us set the tone for the culture of kindness and belonging that is critical for learning. What happens during the first few weeks of school often set the tone for the entire year.  With over 800 students on campus this year, we could easily have over 160 kind things happening each day of our first week. During the first week, I will be visiting each of our classes to hear from students what they are doing to be kind at school. Please encourage your students to participate!

If you need an idea, consider participating in our New Family Buddy program. This is a great opportunity for returning students to act as leaders and advocates for kindness and for new students to connect with other students at WCA. If your family is interested in participating, please complete this form.

• The prices listed are for the 2022-2023 school year ONLY!
• All orders are shipped to the SCHOOL, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please do NOT pay for shipping. Payment for shipping will not be refunded.
• Please double check your order sizes, spelling of name on Middle School Hoodie etc., as all items are a FINAL SALE. Also, be sure to verify ADULT or YOUTH sizing.
• Hoodies are ONLY available for Middle School Students (5-8) and can not be worn by K-4

All parents/guardians must complete the registration process on Express Check-in. Express Check-in helps us to communicate and get acknowledgments for important school information/procedures and also ensures we have accurate contact information for your family.  Express Check-in must be completed for students to use computers, participate in school sports teams, and be assigned a locker in the middle school.  We strongly encourage parents to do this prior to Open House. However, if you get stuck and need help, we will have a table set up to assist with Express check-in at Open House on August 11.

Explorers Club

We are World Compass Academy's School Age Child Care Program. We offer before and after school, half/full day care and Summer Camp. We provide care for children 5 to 13 years of age.   Link to Enroll

Open House for Back to School

Open House for back to school will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022  from 4:00 pm-6:00pm. Families are invited anytime during the window. Please feel free to arrive at anytime during the window most convenient for you. There is a special information session for new families at 5:15pm. We are really excited to see you, but please don't come early. Prior to 4:00, we will still be setting up and will not be able to admit you to the building.  

Teachers for grades kindergarten-fifth will email their classes between August 5-8. Middle School schedules will be available to view in the Infinite Campus Parent and Student Portals on August 8. Middle school students will also be able to pickup a printed copy of their schedule at Open House.

Be respectful of our neighbors. The businesses to the north of World Compass Academy need their parking spaces for their patrons. Please do not park in the businesses to the north of the school. The school parking lot will be open and available. Feel free to enter through both the main front office doors and the garage door to the cafeteria on the north side of the building. In addition, overflow parking is available at Plum Creek Community Church to the south of the school. The gates and walkways between the church and the school will be open and families parking at Plum Creek will be able to enter the school through the south gym doors.

World Compass Academy equips students to go anywhere in the world with the foundational skills needed for success. What better way to go anywhere then to experience summer festivals and in the Denver area, the number of cultural festivals continues to grow each year! To learn more, click on the name of the festival.

DCSD Lunches 2022-2023 School Year (fee applies)

All DCSD schools will return to paid meals beginning the first day of school August 15, 2022 (at WCA) for students that do not qualify for Free or Reduced Meal Benefits.

Do I need to submit an application to receive Free or Reduced price meals? Yes! Everyone must submit a new application for each school year.

Applications will be available online beginning July 15, 2022 and can be found here:

For families that do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, lunch payments can be made through Myschoolbucks. Your student will need to know their DCSD Student ID number.
