S2SA, in collaboration with the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB), will be hosting two FREE in-person training sessions in October.

WCB Basics

WCB Basics focuses on the key points of interaction between WCB, employers and workers, including rate setting, managing costs, reporting injuries, decision making, dispute resolution, claims management and the benefits of return to work programs.

Return to Work Basics 

Return to Work Basics will help you understand the essential elements and best practices needed to build an effective workplace return-to-work program. In addition, the workshop will provide valuable tools to develop or enhance a workplace return to work program to support workers with safe and suitable work and minimize the impact of workplace injuries and illnesses.

Jennifer Willems


Jennifer Willems is a Return to Work Program Specialist with the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB). Jennifer has worked for the WCB for 16 years in several roles, including as an Adjudicator in the Short Term Claims department and as a Return to Work Consultant. Before joining the WCB, Jennifer worked in a large manufacturing company's human resources and disability management roles.

Jennifer Lao is a Return to Work Consultant with the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB), where she has worked for nearly three years. Before joining the WCB, she worked in the manufacturing, healthcare and automotive industries in several roles, including Health and Safety, Disability Management and Human Resources.

Our training is different – we teach in a conversational style to keep you engaged. We focus on information and actions you can directly apply to make your workplace safer and create a safety culture.
