Dear Washington Canoe Club Community,

Fall is a time for change and renewal, and the perfect time to update you on WCC’s Boathouse renovation project and fundraising campaign progress to date.

PROJECT PROGRESS

It was wonderful to share our revised design photos and plans with so many of you at last month’s Sunset Dinner. You can find everything that was unveiled at the event – draft NPS plans, updated renderings, and project schedules – on the new Rehabilitation Updates page on our website. We encourage you to check back frequently for updates on the rehabilitation and approval process – and we’ll also continue to update our community via email. We are still on track for permitting, renovation contracts, and approvals to take place in 2025.

CAMPAIGN PROGRESS

The Sunset Dinner was a huge success and helped raise over $19,000 in critical funds for the Boathouse renovation. We’re grateful for all those who attended the event! Special thanks to Dalton Pope of Cinemagine Studios and Owen Palmiotti for their work on the Sunset Dinner video. A sneak peek is posted to our website, and the full video will premiere on our website here in the coming days.

We are also happy to announce the launch of our Boathouse Rehabilitation Campaign page to you. It has all of the information on our capital campaign efforts, links to our campaign materials, an updated fundraising total (currently $248K!), a list of our 2024 donors, and the various ways you can support the campaign.

If you haven’t had a chance to donate to our fundraising efforts, now is the time!

  1. Donate Online - You can make a one-time donation or automate your giving with a monthly recurring gift. Donations may also be made via check.
  2. Make a Pledge - Download our pledge form and document your three - year pledge commitment and when you would like to pay.
  3. Many More Options! - Are you interested in making a gift via stock, appreciated securities, IRA, donor advised fund or other method? Please email at fundraising@washingtoncanoeclub.org for assistance!

As always, we will continue to share with you our progress and any updates.

Warm regards,

Andrew Soles, President
