Time Transport is a family business established in 1997 by brothers Jim and Jerry Buchmeier. The Buchmeier family takes pride in its long history in the trucking industry. The brothers learned the trade from their father, Gilbert Buchmeier, who began with three milk trucks carrying canned milk from farms in Illinois and Indiana to the Chicago milk market in the 1930's. Today, Time Transport is operated by Jerry's children.

ALT. FUEL INITIATIVES & COMPANY INVESTMENT
After significant research, Time Transport tested its first CNG truck in 2012. By  April 2013, they had their first five CNG vehicles on the road. Within the six months that followed Time Transport steadily deployed more and now 90% of their fleet runs on CNG. By using CNG, Time Transport is currently displacing nearly 700,000 diesel gallons annually. They also employ mechanics who are Natural Gas Vehicle Institute-certified CNG fuel system inspectors.

Time Transport began its transition to CNG with the 9-liter engine, but discovered the 12-liter engine, which concentrates on loads that are at-capacity weights, was a better fit for its operations. Saddle tank units work best for Time Transport's local cartage drivers for both range and added visibility. The newer back-of-cab tank units are the best performer for drivers who perform regional and over-the-road work. It gives these drivers needed range between fill-ups and adds to Time Transport's capacity to serve customers in its growing network.
