garden for good donates 8k lbs.
So close! WCI harvested an estimated 8,000 lbs. of sweet potatoes from our Garden for Good this fall for the Food Bank of Iowa. We were a little short of our goal of 10,000 lbs. but an amazing accomplishment nonetheless. Dozens of volunteers helped with the harvest, including high school ag education students from West Central Valley in Stuart, IA. WCI also donated 800 lbs. of apples to DMARC with the help of volunteers from Eat Greater Des Moines.
year-end giving
The official #GivingTuesday event is over, but please consider a year-end gift anytime before Dec. 31. Cash, stock, grain or other assets in any amount are welcome. On-line contributions thru Square are safe and easy, or simply send a check to the address below. Your gift will help us develop new initiatives like the Garden for Good, carry out programming like the Prairie Art Exhibit & Festival, and maintain our two historic sites. Contact Ann if you have any questions.
