RADIOLOGY EXCELS AT EXAM

The WCJC Radiologic Technology Program's 2024 Class had a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the National American Registry of Radiologic Technology Exam.


LVN GRADS PASS BOARD TEST


The WCJC Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Program's 2024 Class recently achieved a 100 percent pass rate on their board exam.


ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME


Five former Pioneers have been inducted into the WCJC Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2024 recipients are Phil Blackmar (Golf), Juan De La Garza (Track), Ed Fiori (Golf), Phyllis Bonugli Fowler (Volleyball) and Justin Maass (Rodeo). A ceremony was held recently in their honor at the Pioneer Student Center on the Wharton campus. WCJC President Betty McCrohan provided the welcome, with WCJC Baseball Coach Trey Porras and WCJC Rodeo Coach Sean Amestoy awarding the plaques and recognizing the recipients. Inductees were chosen by a selection committee comprised of athletic department staff and long-time college instructors.

5K STRIDE & STROLL

More than two dozen runners and walkers braved cold and rainy conditions to take part in Wharton County Junior College Senior Citizens Program’s 5K Stride and Stroll. Despite the inclement weather, the event raised $8,285 for the benefit of program participants.

STUDENT COUNCIL EVENT

WCJC hosted the District 14 Student Council Fall Convention at the Wharton campus. More than 600 students from 24 area schools were in attendance. Pictured above are members of the Needville High School Student Council.

WCJC RECOGNIZES RETIREES


WCJC recently accepted the retirements of several long-time employees. Retirees and their years of service include Zina Carter (29 years), Tim Guin (12 years part-time and 10 years full-time) and Gus Wessels (23 years).

SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION

Registration for WCJC's Winter 2024 Mini-Term and Spring 2025 semester is now open. The Spring 2025 semester begins on Jan. 13, 2025. Registration is open through Jan. 17, 2025.
