ARIA COMPETES IN

MICROBIOLOGY CONTEST


WCJC biology student Keemia Aria recently presented research at the fall meeting of the Texas Branch of the American Society for Microbiology. Aria won third place in the Undergraduate General Microbiology Poster Presentation category. Her research was done at Rice University as part of the 2025 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU).

GUPTA JOINS

ADVISORY BOARD


WCJC Instructor of Economics Varun Gupta has accepted an invitation to join the advisory board of the Journal of Economics Teaching (JET), a peer-reviewed economics journal founded in 2025. Gupta has taught courses in economics and accounting at WCJC since 2007 and will serve as the Economics Chair for the TCCTA conference in February.


POLICE ACADEMY PASSES EXAM

The WCJC Police Academy Class PA119 recently revealed their commitment to high achievement by posting a 100 percent pass rate on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) State Licensing Exam.

NURSING STUDENTS GRADUATE


Seventeen students have earned their Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from WCJC. A pinning ceremony was held at the conclusion of the Fall 2025 semester.
