STATE GRANT BOOSTS INFORMATION TECH PROGRAM
A state grant will enable WCJC's Information Technology & Networking program to upgrade equipment and provide scholarships to qualified students. WCJC secured nearly $185,000 from the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) 2024-2025 Grant Program. The TRUE funds will cover $139,000 in equipment, $20,000 in certifications and $25,000 in scholarships. David Kucera, WCJC’s Division Chair of Technology and Business and Program Director of the Electronics Engineering Technology program, said that the funds will provide important upgrades to the college’s Information Technology labs on the Richmond campus.
