Pioneers kick off 2019 season
The WCJC Pioneers Baseball Team is 9-9 this season after beating some tough opponents. WCJC's next home game is March 9 versus Galveston College.

JOB WELL DONE 
Event celebrates JHOC renovation

Wharton County Junior College will officially celebrate the completion of a large-scale renovation project that has transformed its Johnson Health Occupations Center.
Begun in June of 2017, the $6.5 million project included the construction of a new 18,000 square foot addition on the facility’s north side in addition to major renovation on the existing 34,000 square foot building. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. The event will include a tour and demonstrations.

ONGOING SUPPORT
Grant benefits hurricane victims 
A $500,000 federal grant will enable WCJC to provide outreach and financial assistance to students impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

REACHING FOR THE STARS 
WCJC student earns NASA trip
WCJC Sugar Land student Duaa Qamar will travel to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in June to participate in a scholars program.

GAME CHANGER
New ballpark benefits program 
Thanks to a generous donation from Houston resident Duncan Corbett, the Pioneers Baseball Team will soon have a new ballpark in which to compete.

MARK OF EXCELLENCE  
Marketing Office earns awards 
Since 2001, the WCJC Office of Marketing and Communications has garnered 36 awards of excellence from regional and national organizations.
