FARCE OF HABIT
Drama Department offers comedy
The WCJC Drama Department kicks off its 2019 season with "Farce of Habit," a fast-paced comedy featuring a nun, a radio talk show host and an ax murderer.

VOLLEYBALL SEASON ENDS 
Sophomores honored at last game 
The WCJC Pioneers volleyball team closed out its season on Oct. 25 against Trinity Valley Community College. Sophomore players were recognized during the game.

WORKER BEES
Employees get into Halloween spirit
WCJC President Betty McCrohan took time out of her schedule on Oct. 31 to pose with Division of Allied Health employees who dressed up as "worker bees." Other employees celebrated the holiday by donning "Grease" costumes.

KNOCKERBALL TIME
Students enjoy campus activities 

WCJC students earlier this month participated in "Knockerball" (also known as "Bubble Soccer") during noon time activities at the Wharton campus. The event was organized by Troy Jefferson, WCJC's director of student life, and is one of several activities planned each Wednesday at the college's campuses as a means of building student engagement and drawing attention to the college's scenic facilities. Other events have included traditional soccer, football and a fall festival, which included caricature drawings and magazine cover photographs.

Video shows college improvements
A special video project was recently completed to highlight the improvements the college has completed over this past year.

PINK OUT
Faculty raises cancer awareness
Faculty with WCJC's Allied Health Division wore "Pink Out" shirts in October to raise awareness for breast cancer and to honor those who have fought against the devastating disease. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

WCJC ACCEPTS RETIREMENTS
Employees gave years of service
More than a dozen WCJC employees recently retired from the college. Plaques of appreciation were presented in each retiree's honor during regular Board of Trustees meetings.

MANUFACTURING DAY
WCJC participates in annual event
WCJC was represented at Manufacturing Day held at Texas State Technical College on Oct. 4 by faculty including Rudolph Henry, Willie Myles, Gerald Kinder and Ricky Schooler. Over 200 students attended the event, which presents workforce opportunities to high schoolers enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs.
