COMMISSIONER VISITS WCJC

WCJC hosted Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Dr. Wynn Rosser earlier this fall at the Richmond campus. WCJC was one of only three institutions the commissioner toured in this area.

PIONEER SOPHOMORE NIGHT


The WCJC Pioneers volleyball team played their final home game on Oct. 28 against Blinn College. The event coincided with Sophomore Night, which recognizes sophomore players. Pictured at right is sophomore setter Gabriela Young of Katy with her parents.

ALUMNI BASEBALL GAME


The annual WCJC Pioneers Alumni Baseball Game was held this month at Corbett Park in Wharton. Nearly 20 former players showed up to pit their talents against the current WCJC squad. Students, college employees and the public braved unseasonably hot temperatures to catch the action.

STRIDE & STROLL


The WCJC Senior Citizens Program hosted their 5K Stride & Stroll race on Oct. 25 in downtown Wharton. The event raised funds for the program, which provides everything from meals to activities to health screenings for area seniors. The program's primary location is in the LaDieu Technology Center.

WCJC PARTNERS WITH KAINOS

WCJC is teaming up with Kainos Academy this fall to provide educational opportunities for young adults. The nonprofit organization is utilizing WCJC's new Construction Trades Training facility in Bay City.

SUPER SCIENCE ALLIANCE


The WCJC Foundation hosted the 4th Annual Super Science Alliance on Oct. 23 at the Bay City Civic Center. Around 500 sixth graders were in attendance, along with five companies who shared information about STEM-related careers.
