GOLF CLASSIC
Foundation hosts annual tourney 
The WCJC Foundation will host its 7th Annual Golf Classic this November for the benefit of student scholarships. Since 2017, $144,000 in scholarships has been awarded.

Event benefits Senior Program 
Runners and walkers will descend on downtown Wharton on Nov. 2 for the annual 5K Stride and Stroll, an event aimed at raising funds for the WCJC Senior Citizen Program.

NEW ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Case takes helm of WCJC athletics 

There's a new captain at the helm of WCJC's athletics department, but he's no stranger to Pioneers' players and fans. Keith Case, WCJC's head baseball coach since 2014, was named the college's athletic director on Aug. 30, 2019. He replaces Gene Bahnsen, who retired after a 60-year career at WCJC. "I am excited about the future here at WCJC," Case said. "Before I had only one team. Now I have three teams."

Members of WCJC's Student Government Association recently participated in a car seat inspection event held at the Wharton campus.

Sinclair sworn in as newest member
Needville resident Edee Sinclair was recently sworn in as the newest member of the WCJC Board of Trustees. Sinclair was appointed to Position 8.
