Rural Resident Feature
3.     What have been some of your favorite experiences during your rural rotations?

My favorite experience during my rural rotations has to be a breech singleton vaginal delivery, which isn't something we get much experience with anymore.

4.     What are some of your favorite aspects of an OB/Gyn rural practice?

My favorite aspects include the increased continuity of care within women's health along with being able to feel more closely connected to the community you are serving.
Kaley Gyorfi, MD
(PGY-2, OB-Gyn, UW- Madison)
Kaley was our first featured resident for our video production project: “A Day in the Life of a Rural Resident”. Kaley was filmed during her rural rotation at Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin, WI on March 8, 2022. Learn more about Kaley below:
1.     Could you tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from, your education?

I was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. I graduated from UW-LaCrosse in 2015 with a bachelor of science in biomedical science. Then I attended University of Wisconsin school of medicine and public health (UWSMPH) for medical school . I was part of the Wisconsin academy for rural medicine (WARM) there.

2.     What attracted you to doing a rural residency?

I first became interested in rural medicine when I was an undergraduate student and the WARM coordinator came to talk to our pre-medicine club about rural medicine in Wisconsin. So when I applied to medical school I specifically sought out that track.
