The Harold Stevens Gallery presents “Mannequin”, a collaborative exhibition of photography, video, and sculpture examining how human identity is shaped by digital technologies.

Celebrating 50 Years of BeauSoleil Live

This week, we look back on a live concert celebrating the music of the legendary Cajun band BeauSoleil, led by fiddler Michael Doucet, with family and friends in their 50th year of playing Louisiana French folk and popular music locally and globally, all in front of a packed hometown house in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Thursday, May 14: Cinema Worcester at the Frontroom Presents “The Drama”

Cinema Worcester in conjunction with the WCUW Frontroom presents “The Drama”, a film by Kristoffer Borgli.

An explosive confession throws the wedding of a seemingly perfect couple (Zendaya and Robert Pattinson) off the rails as they spiral to confront whether they can truly make it to “I do.”

A brilliantly inventive, darkly funny look at love that dares us to ask how much we really want to know about the people closest to us.

“A compelling high-wire act, wonky at times yet committed to living in discomfort.” â€“ Scott Tobias, The Reveal

“…the film features fully committed performances and an interesting premise. I personally found it a fascinatingly complex view of the anxiety that comes with millennial marriage and preparation.” â€“ Ben Miller, the FIlm Experience

Run time is 1 hour 46 minutes. R (sexual content | some violent/bloody images | language throughout | brief drug use).

Showtime: Thursday, May 14, 7 pm.

Purchase tickets online: $14.64 general admission, $12.51 senior/student with ID, $11.44 for WCUW members (processing fees included).

Tickets at the door: $12 general admission, $10 senior/student with ID, $9 for WCUW members.

The WCUW Frontroom is located at 910 Main St., Worcester MA. Parking in the Clark University lot across the street, or on the street.

Sunday, May 17: Cinema Worcester at the Frontroom Presents “Tea on the Beach”

Cinema Worcester in conjunction with the WCUW Frontroom presents “Tea on the Beach”, a film by Dawn Davis. Film and Stage Director, and friend of Cinema Worcester, Dawn Davis, visits to show and discuss her latest film.

When Lena, a middle-aged real estate agent secretly struggling with recurring pregnancy loss, receives news that her mother has died, she reluctantly returns to her family home for a weekend to determine what to do about their father, who suffers from dementia.

At their childhood home, Lena, her elder brother Andrew, and their much younger sister Esther must come to grips with the state of their father’s health while wrestling over the future of the house and unearthing family secrets. Andrew conceals his failing marriage; Esther hides her financial struggles; Dahlia bonds with Esther to the dismay of Lena; and the memory of the decades-old death of their eldest brother, Ronnie, continues to haunt the family today.

Run time is 1 hour 32 minutes. NR .
