The Harold Stevens Gallery presents “Mannequin”, a collaborative exhibition of photography, video, and sculpture examining how human identity is shaped by digital technologies.

Memorial Day with the 2025 National Heritage Fellows, 5/20/2026
This Memorial Day weekend, we hear from the 2025 National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellows. As our country gears up to celebrate its 250th birthday, we meet the great traditional musicians, storytellers, artisans, and cultural advocates who have received our nation’s highest honor in the folk arts. We’ll visit with the honorees, including Creole French musician, Edward Poullard; Haitian dancer and drummer, Peniel Guerrier; Japanese folk dancer, Adrienne Reiko Iwanaga; bit and spur maker, Ernie Marsh; Sicangu Lakota artist and educator, Steve Tamayo; Mexican Folk costume maker and dancer, Carmen Baron; and men's choral and bandura ensemble, the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America. We’ll also hear music and conversation from some of our favorite fellows from years past: bluegrass hero Del McCoury, dancer and drummer from the West African Congo, Sidiki Conde, and New Orleans jazz clarinetist Dr. Michael White, plus a glimpse into an historic Clifton Chenier box set, released in early 2026 for the late Louisiana Creole French King of Zydeco’s 100th birthday

Thursday, May 21, thru Sunday, May 24: Cinema Worcester at the Frontroom Presents “Blue Heron”
Cinema Worcester in conjunction with the WCUW Frontroom presents “Blue Heron”, a film by Sophy Romvari.
In the late 1990s, a family of six settles into their new home on Vancouver Island, as internal dynamics are slowly revealed through the experiences of the youngest child, Sasha. Their fresh start is interrupted by the increasingly dangerous behavior of Jeremy, the family’s oldest child.
Described as “semi-autobiographical,” the film is based in part on Romvari’s own childhood and her previous short film ‘Still Processing‘.
“[a] splintered, shattering memory piece.” – Guy Lodge, Variety
“Blue Heron blurs the line between fact and fiction in a woozy, laconic way; this is a drama in which perspectives shift, timelines merge and soft-focus sequences are layered with a documentary-style aesthetic.” – Nikki Baughan, Screen Daily
“5 Stars.” – RogerEbert.com
“Sophy Romvari’s superb debut feature blends memory, documentary and fiction to process a family wound.” – Alissa Wilkinson, The New York Times
Run time is 1 hour 30 minutes. NR.
Showtimes: Thursday, May 21, 7 pm; Friday, May 22, 7 pm; Saturday, May 23, 1 pm; and Sunday, May 24, 1 pm.
Purchase tickets online: $14.64 general admission, $12.51 senior/student with ID, $11.44 for WCUW members (processing fees included).
Tickets at the door: $12 general admission, $10 senior/student with ID, $9 for WCUW members.

Saturday, May 30: Johnny Blue Horn and The Caretakers at the Frontroom
WCUW is so excited to have Johnny Blue Horn and The Caretakers return to the FrontRoom!
Johnny Blue Horn is a musician known for his soulful and eclectic sound, which blends elements of blues, jazz, rock and R&B. His vocal style has been compared to artists like Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, and Bruce Springsteen, and his music often has a rootsy Americana feel to it.
With his band the Caretakers, he’s also known for his high-energy live performances and his strong connection with the audience. Joining Johnny is Bobby Gus on guitar, Jim Heffernan on keys, Sven Larson on bass and Chris Anzalone on drums.
If you haven’t yet checked out Johnny Blue Horn and The Caretakers, you would be doing yourself a real favor to come down to this show. Johnny and his group put out a beautiful sound.
