Thursday, January 22, thru Saturday, January 24: Cinema Worcester at the Frontroom Presents “No Other Choice”

Cinema Worcester, in conjunction with the WCUW Frontroom, presents “No Other Choice”, a film by Park Chan-wook.

No Other Choice is a critically acclaimed Korean dark comedy-thriller directed by Park Chan-wook. This wickedly clever takedown of the corporate rat race finds a perfect avatar in Lee Byung-Hun’s skillfully hapless performance.

Abruptly laid off after 25 years at the same company, a desperate man goes to extreme lengths to eliminate the competition for the job he wants. He decides to kill them off, to be assured of the job he seeks to maintain his way of life.

Saturday, January 24: The Metrons at the Frontroom

The Metrons are a seasoned four-piece Rock R&B band including Bob Palermo (bass and vocals), John Bianchi (B3 organ, keys and vocals), Todd Dufault (guitar and vocals) and Bart McCracken (drums).

These people are best known as members of some noted area bands including Albatross, The Heartbeats, The Mighty Bel-Mars, Sweet Tooth, Kim Page, Silverbacks, Mitch Chakour, Dr. D and the House Calls, Kidd Morocco, Moore Bros., Valvatross and The Beatmeters. Here, the four of them come together as The Metrons.

The setlist focuses on some great classic tunes both for listening and dancing. Tom Petty, Allman Bros., The Band, Derek and the Dominoes and many Blues classics with some interesting takes on a variety of familiar tunes

Showtime: Saturday, January 24, 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets $15 cash or Venmo at the door.

Light refreshments will be served. Or, visit Fantastic Pizza/Grub Guru next door for pizza, Indian food, and more, to eat-in or to bring back.
