Thursday, August 28 thru Sunday, August 31: Cinema Worcester at the Frontroom Presents “Eddington”

Cinema Worcester in conjunction with the WCUW Frontroom presents “Eddington”, a film by Ari Aster.

Eddington is a 2025 American Neo-Western satirical black comedy film written and directed by Ari Aster. Set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in New Mexico, the film examines the political and social turmoil caused by the contested mayoral election fought between Sheriff Joe Cross and Mayor Ted Garcia.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal) of Eddington, New Mexico, implements a lockdown and enforces mask mandates. Local sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix) disapproves, believing the mandates violate people’s freedom of choice. This sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor.

Run time is 1 hour 38 minutes. R (Violent/bloody images | Language | Some underage smoking/drinking | Sexual assault).

Farmview Studio in collaboration with WCUW presents “An Evening of Music in Memory of Paul Vuona, George Weston, Paul ‘Spider’ Hanson and Gil Markle”.

The founding members of Zonkaraz – Ric Porter, Jo List and Jon Webster – accompanied by Dan Gay on piano and Brendan Keenan on guitar, will perform selections from the song book of Zonkaraz!

They will be joined by Chuck & Mud with Peter Allard and Walter Crockett. Mike Ladd opens the show and is the Master of Ceremonies.

The concert will be held at the Hibernian Cultural Center, 19 Temple St., Worcester MA. Limited seating!

Showtime: Sunday, September 21, 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30. Advance tickets $33.85 (processing fees included) at Eventbrite. $40 cash at the door.
