Your resume – it can be one of the most challenging and dreaded parts of the job search. Yet, you can’t really start your search without it. Employers will expect you to have a polished resume to share with them. You want to be sure yours is crafted in such away that your strengths and all you have to offer the employer are clear and compelling. You also want a powerful cover letter that catches their attention and gets you considered for the job.

CalJOBS is California's online resource to help job seekers and employers navigate the state's workforce services. You can search for jobs, create résumés and more. We have teamed up with our partner Rubicon Programs to create a video workshop that walks you through the main features of this online jobs tool.

If you have lost your job or have been furloughed as a result of COVID-19, you likely are wondering what help is out there to see you through this challenging time and get you on track for the future. Join us online every Thursday in July at 2 p.m. for a webinar where you can get your questions answered. Experts from the WDBCCC and the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) will be on hand to answer questions about workforce services, unemployment insurance (UI) and healthcare coverage.

Caljobs Workshop

Have you been thinking about a new career? Maybe in healthcare or business? Or maybe green energy is more in line with your interests? Whether you are looking for a brand-new career or just want to take courses to make yourself more marketable, WDBCCC, through its partner EastBay Works, is offering FREE online career training so you can get the skills you need to stand out in the job search.

You must be a resident of Contra Costa County to access the training.

The online training is through the Metrix Learning portal, which uses videos to teach you the skills you need to be competitive in the job market. Choose from business, healthcare, industrial, computer, workplace and customer service courses. In addition to taking courses in the portal, you can also look for jobs there.
