Important Dress Rehearsal Reminders

We are very excited for our 30th annual recitals - "Celebrate!".

Below are some important notes and information regarding dress rehearsal and recitals for Preschool through Adult classes.

(Tots dancers have their Showcase this Sunday, May 18th. If your dancer is in a 30 minute tots creative movement class, please see information sent HERE regarding their Showcase.)

DRESS REHEARSALS MAY 19TH-22ND @ WDC WEST

DRESS REHEARSALS will be held at our second studio location - WDC WEST (650 Commerce Drive, Suite 100 next to Posh Pooch). See map.

Dress Rehearsal/Recital Packet -- Dancers brought home a recital information packet in March and another information sheet in early May. If you did not receive your copies or no longer have it available, please check HERE and HERE. Be sure to read through the information before next week!

Costumes - Dancers should plan to arrive in costume for dress rehearsal just a few minutes before starting time. If your dancer's class has more than one costume please see the list below regarding which costume they will need to wear first. 

*7th-12th grade tap/jazz (Mon 7:45) -- Jazz costume first

Don't forget to bring all of the shoes needed for your routines, as well. 

Dress rehearsal night - Each dancer may have 1 parent/guardian with them at WDC WEST during dress rehearsal.

Please label shoes and costume pieces - Please help our backstage staff by labeling your dancer's shoes, dance bag and costumes/accessories. At recital, dancers are not allowed to wear their tap shoes in the cafeteria/hallways so they will need to have them carried to the backstage area.

Trophies  - Dancers who are eligible to receive a trophy this year can pick them up at Dress Rehearsal. All dancers participating in recital receive a ribbon, which will be passed out at their last class. 

Last week of class is this week (May 12th-17th) - No recreational classes will be held at the studio after this week prior to recitals. Recreational dancers only need to come for their dress rehearsal day/time next week at WDC WEST.

Show Orders with the order of routines for each recital will be posted in the lobby at the main studio this week and also at dress rehearsals at WDC WEST next week for reference.

Recital Tickets  - Tickets are still available to purchase ONLINE for all shows using the link below. Extra tickets may now be purchased if needed.

Dress rehearsal - you are welcome to video-tape your child's performances.

Recital - Each recital will be professionally recorded by Creative Edge. No other video-recording is allowed at the recital. Dance families who purchase recital tickets will automatically receive a link of their dancer's show(s) video to view. The links will be sent by the end of June.



FlashDrives -- Creative Edge also offers the option for parents to order flash drives with a digital copy of their dancer's routine(s). See their website HERE for more information and to order online.

Picture Ordering - Class pictures were taken in costume in April. As a reminder, pictures may be ordered online using the link below through Wednesday, June 25th (prices go up on Thursday, June 26th).

Hairpieces to the Rescue

Looking for an easy way to style your dancer’s hair for recital?

Try a hairpiece!

Put up hair in a bun, attach a 'curly hair' scrunchie or another available style and you are set! Just make sure the hair piece is secured with hair pins for the show. A variety of hair colors are available in the WDC Boutique.

Recital T-shirts  - Recital shirts are available to pick up at the studio and will be available to pick up at dress rehearsals, as well. A limited number of shirts will be available for sale at the studio and dress rehearsals. Any remaining shirts will be available for purchase at recitals.

Recital Gifts -- YDE are currently taking pre-sale orders online for recital gifts including flowers, balloons and stuffed animals during through May 22nd. Be sure to check out all of the options HERE to place your oder.
