Thank you! As we enter into 2022, all of us at Woodbury Dance Center would like to thank you for sharing your children with us! We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful kids each week.

Our teachers and staff would also like to give a huge THANKS for all of the cards, goodies, and gifts given over the holidays. They are much appreciated!

DATES TO REMEMBER

SPRING BREAK – Monday, March 7th through Saturday, March 12th. (No Classes)

PICTURE WEEK – Monday, March 28th – Saturday, April 2nd (no classes during picture week)

RECITALS – Tuesday, May 31st through Saturday, June 4th

***Classes WILL be held Monday, January 17th (MLK day) and Monday, February 21st (President’s Day).

Monthly Themes for Tots, Preschool, and Kindergarten Classes:

Our theme this month for Tots, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes is: “Happy New Year- Celebrate YOU!”. We will have special songs, games, activities, along with dance specific skill goals and life/social skill goals that will be worked on each month.

Theme Weeks

Winter Carnival Week:

Monday, January 24th – Saturday, January 29th

Tots, Preschool & Kindergarten classes are invited to wear

Winter Carnival inspired dance wear!

(blue/white, snowflakes, hats/scarves, etc.)

'I Love to Dance' Week:

Monday, February 14th – Saturday, February 19th.

Dancers of ALL ages are invited to wear red, pink, or hearts and show your

'Love to Dance' spirit!

We will have red and pink leotards, skirts and accessories in the boutique for purchase during the month of January!

Recitals 2022

Recital Information!

Please mark you calendars for our spring recital dates: Tuesday, May 31st - Saturday, June 4th.

Preschool through Adult Classes: Tuesday, May 31st through Saturday, June 4th at East Ridge High School in Woodbury.

Dress rehearsals (Preschool – Teen Classes): Monday, May 23rd thru Thursday, 26th.

Tots classes: Our “Totally Tots Showcase” performances will be held the morning of Sunday, May 22nd, in-studio at our WDC West location. All of our tots classes will be performing on that date. Tots will have no Dress Rehearsals.

**The exact recital/dress rehearsal date/time for your dancer's class will be posted by February 1st.

Band App

The Band App will be used again this year to get music and videos out to our students to help with at home practice. We will also use this app to communicate with dancers and parents regarding class material.

Please download the app and go to the link below. From there you can join the correct group for your child's class(es). Classes will be grouped together by Recital Routines.

Please note that video content will not be posted any sooner than February.

Attendance Reminders

Please help us by making sure your dancer is regularly attending their dance classes. All classes are starting their recital routines. Good attendance will:

Help your dancer be more confident with their dances.
Keep your dancer up-to-date on new steps and avoid frustration of trying to get caught up on what they missed during their absence.
Help the teachers keep classes moving ahead with choreography from week to week.
Help the teachers with formation work in class.
Make-up classes are available for most classes. Please call or check at the Front desk for class times.

NEW ADULT CLASS ADDED!

Do you have goals to get moving in 2022? DANCE is the perfect solution!

Check out all of the Adult Classes available at WDC!

Added to our schedule starting in January - ZUMBA on Thursday mornings! Zumba class is a combination of dance and fitness moves done to a background of exhilarating, international rhythms.

We also welcome you to check out our other Adult Classes - Tap, Ballet and/or Jazz! Classes focus on technique and style through center exercises, traveling progressions and combinations. Adults in the tap and jazz classes will have the option to perform in our recital at the end of the season.

New Session starting in JANUARY

Do you have a friend or neighbor that would like to try dance at WDC?

A new winter session begins January 12th! Our winter session runs for 7 weeks for dancers ages 2-5. Classes fill fast- reserve your spot ASAP!
