Thank you! As we enter into 2023, all of us at Woodbury Dance Center would like to thank you for sharing your children with us! We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful kids each week.

Our teachers and staff would also like to give a huge THANKS for all of the cards, goodies, and gifts given over the holidays.

They are much appreciated!

DATES TO REMEMBER

SPRING BREAK – Monday, March 6th through Saturday, March 11th. (No Classes)

PICTURE WEEK – Monday, March 27th – Saturday, April 1st (no classes during picture week)

TOTS SHOWCASE -- Sunday, May 21st

RECITALS – Tuesday, May 30th through Saturday, June 3rd

***Classes WILL be held Monday, January 16th (MLK day) and Monday, February 20th (President’s Day).

Monthly Themes for Tots, Preschool, and Kindergarten Classes:

Our theme this month for Tots, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes is:

“Happy New Year- Celebrate YOU!”. Special songs, games, activities, along with dance specific skill goals and life/social skill goals will be worked on during the month.

Theme Weeks

Winter Carnival Week:

Monday, January 23rd – Saturday, January 28th

Tots, Preschool & Kindergarten/1st Grade classes are invited to wear

Winter Carnival inspired dance wear!

(blue/white, snowflakes, hats/scarves, etc.)

'I Love to Dance' Week:

Monday, February 13th – Saturday, February 18th.

Dancers of ALL ages are invited to wear red, pink, or hearts and show your

'Love to Dance' spirit!

We will have red and pink leotards, skirts and accessories

in the boutique for purchase during the month of January!

Band App

The Band App will be used again this year to get music and videos out to our students to help with at home practice. We will also use this app to communicate with dancers and parents regarding class material.

Please download the app and go to the link below. From there you can join the correct group for your child's class(es). Classes will be grouped together by Recital Routines.

*Please note that video content will not be posted any sooner than February.

Attendance Reminders

Please help us by making sure your dancer is regularly attending their dance classes. All classes are starting their recital routines. Good attendance will:

Help your dancer be more confident with their dances.
Keep your dancer up-to-date on new steps and avoid frustration of trying to get caught up on what they missed during their absence.
Help the teachers keep classes moving ahead with choreography from week to week.
Help the teachers with formation work in class.
Make-up classes are available for most classes. Please call or check at the Front desk for class times.

New Session!!

A new winter session begins January 11th!

Our winter session runs for 7 weeks for dancers ages 2-11.

**New classes added this session: 5-7 yrs Combo Class & 8-11 yrs Hip Hop Classes fill fast- reserve your spot ASAP!

Special Thanks

Thank you to all that donated a toy at WDC this holiday season!

A BIG load of toys was dropped off at the 'Toys for Tots' Drive. We love this holiday tradition that, because of so many generous WDC families, we have done for the past 20+ years!

Brrrrr.....Winter is here!!

Classes canceled due to extreme weather will be communicated to our dance families as follows - email, WDC website, Facebook Page and Instagram posts, as well as the studio voicemail system.

NEW THIS YEAR- texts will be sent out through our SMS system. Be sure that your contact information is up to date in your account so that you receive these alert texts.

Please be sure to check in if you are unsure whether or not classes will be held.

For morning class cancellations, we generally follow South Washington School closures. Afternoon/evening class cancellations are made in the afternoon based on travel conditions and weather forecasts. If you do not feel safe driving to the studio, you are always welcome to have your dancer attend a make-up class.

Each class has two snow days built into our yearly schedule. If class has to be canceled more than twice on any given day, a make up date will be scheduled.
