Thank you! As we enter into 2025, all of us at Woodbury Dance Center would like to thank you for sharing your children with us! We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful kids each week.

Our teachers and staff would also like to give a huge THANKS for all of the cards, goodies, and

gifts given over the holidays.

TOTS SHOWCASE - Sunday, May 18th (No Dress Rehearsals)

DRESS REHEARSALS - Monday, May 19th thru Thursday, May 22nd (Pre-Adult)

RECITALS – Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st

***Classes WILL be held Monday, January 20th (MLK day)

and Monday, February 17th (President’s Day).

Winter Carnival Week:

Monday, January 27th – Saturday, February 1st

Tots, Preschool & Kindergarten/1st Grade classes are invited to wear

Winter Carnival inspired dance wear!

(blue/white, snowflakes, hats/scarves, etc.)

'I Love to Dance' Week:

Monday, February 10th – Saturday, February 15th.

Show your 'Love to Dance' spirit!

Dancers of ALL ages are invited to wear red, pink, or hearts

We will have red and pink leotards, skirts and accessories

in the boutique for purchase during the month of January!

Monthly Theme for Tots and Preschool Classes:

Our theme this month for Tots, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes is:

“Happy New Year- Celebrate YOU!”

Special songs, games, activities, along with dance specific skill goals

and life/social skill goals will be worked on during the month.

BAND App

WDC will be utilizing the Band App again this year to:

share music and videos to assist with at home practice
communicate with dancers and parents regarding class material and scheduling reminders

Please download the app and go to the link below. From there you can join the correct group for your child's class(es). Classes will be grouped together by Recital Routines.

*Please note that video content will not be posted any sooner than late January or early February.

Attendance

Kindly ensure that your dancer attends their dance classes regularly, as all classes will begin learning routines for the upcoming recitals.

Good attendance will:

Help your dancer be more confident with their routines.
Keep your dancer up-to-date on new steps and avoid frustration of trying to get caught up on what they missed during their absence.
Help the teachers keep classes moving ahead with choreography from week to week.
Help the teachers with formation work in class.

Reminder that Make-up Classes are available for most classes. Please call or check at the Front desk for class times.

Winter Weather Class Cancellation Policy

Classes cancelled due to extreme weather will be communicated to our dance families as follows - email, WDC website, Facebook Page and Instagram posts, as well as the studio voicemail system.

REMINDER- texts will be sent out through our SMS system to those who opt to receive text messages from WDC. Be sure that your contact information is up to date in your account to receive important notifications such as class cancellations.

Please be sure to check in if you are unsure whether or not classes will be held.

For morning class cancellations, we generally follow South Washington School closures. Afternoon/evening class cancellations are made in the afternoon based on travel conditions and weather forecasts. If you do not feel safe driving to the studio, you are always welcome to have your dancer attend a make-up class.

Each class has two snow days built into our yearly schedule. If class has to be canceled more than twice on any given day, a make up date will be scheduled.
