October 2025 Recreational Newsletter

Whether you are a new or returning student, we are very excited to have you with us this year. We look forward to a fun-filled and exciting dance season!

Our monthly newsletter will be sent via email and posted on our website each month to notify parents of upcoming events and studio information. Please read newsletters each month. One of our goals at WDC is to keep everyone informed as much as possible. Reading through our monthly newsletter will help you stay up to date on studio information.

WDC INFORMATION PACKET

All students in our September thru May, Preschool to Teens classes received a Fall Info Packet in September. If you did not and would like a paper copy, they are available at the front desk.

Please be sure to read through the FALL INFORMATION PACKET for important dates and recital information!

IMPORTANT TUITION REMINDER

October tuition will be processed on Friday, October 3rd. Please check to be sure that a current credit card is on file in your account. If you need assistance with this, call the studio. THANK YOU!

UPCOMING DATES & EVENTS

Costume Payments - Due Oct. 15th

All preschool through teen dancers participating in our annual recital (tentatively May 26th - 30th) are required to make the first costume payment by October 15th. Please see the costume payment schedule below.

Costume totals:

Classes with 1 Costume: $95

Classes with 2 costumes: $190

Costume Payments are as follows:

Preschool through 12th grade (one costume)

$50 payment due per student per class on October 15th

$45 payment due per student/per class on November 15th

7th-12th Grade Tap/Jazz Combo (2 Costumes)

$95 payment due per student on October 15th

$95 payment due per student on November 15th

Boys Only Classes - $50 Deposit on October 15th, balance TBD this spring

Payments will be run automatically on the due dates using the credit card information on file in your account. Costume payments will be nonrefundable after December 1st.

AUTOPAY

As a reminder, all accounts are required to have a credit card on file for automatic monthly tuition payments and costume payments. You will still have the option to pay at the front desk with cash, check or a different card, if the payment is received before monthly tuition payments are processed automatically around the 2nd/3rd of each month. Please let us know if you have any questions.

NATIONAL DANCE WEEK

We’re excited to announce a

fun coloring contest for dancers ages 2-12!

Pick up a coloring sheet at the front desk
Return it by Saturday, October 18th
Dancers will receive a special treat when dropping off their entries
Dancers ages 13 and up are also invited to participate—stop by the desk and drop your name into our drawing.
All entries will be entered into a drawing for WDC Gift Cards!

DANCE CAMPS

HALLOWEEK AT WDC

Students are invited to wear a Halloween costume to their class between

Saturday, October 25th - Thursday, October 30th

Please make sure that the costume does not restrict movement so that students can still participate in class.

**We ask that no treats be passed out in class.

Preschool-Kindergarten October Theme

Our theme this month for preschool and kindergarten classes is: “Fabulous Fall Fun!”.

We will have special songs, games, activities, along with dance specific skill goals and life/social skill goals that will be worked on each month.

Participation element:

Dancers are invited to wear their Halloween costume to class the week preceding Halloween --

Saturday 10/25 through Thursday 10/30.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Preschool and Kgn/1st grade classes will celebrate each month in class. Dancers with a birthday during that month will be celebrated with a special birthday song and a WDC Birthday Sticker.

Summer birthdays will be celebrated during their half birthday month.

We look forward to celebrating your dancer!!

REMINDERS!

Make Up Classes

If your dancer is absent due to illness, vacation or a school related activity, making up the missed class is not required. However, if you would like, they are welcome to do a make-up in another class of the same age/level. We do ask that you schedule a make-up class ahead of time by phone, e-mail or by stopping at the Front Desk.

Ballet Shoes

Ballet shoe strings should be cut short and tucked into the shoe. They should not be tied in a bow. Please trim your shoe strings to about 2 inches long so they can easily be tucked in and readjusted later if needed.

LABEL, LABEL, LABEL

Please label all of your child’s dance shoes, dance wear and water bottles.

Help your kids cut back on lost items and stay organized this school year by purchasing a nifty set of labels from Mabel’s Labels!

Use this Mabel's Labels link to access the website, then click 'Support a Fundraiser' in the upper right corner and search 'Darby's Dancers Woodbury'. Our adaptive dance program will receive a portion of the proceeds from each purchase!

Parking

As a friendly reminder, please be aware of where you are parking around the studio. On the south side of the building, other businesses have spots close to their entrances reserved – no parking will be allowed in these spots for WDC families (green/red signs are posted). Also, on the north side of the building, please do not park in front of the garage doors. We understand parking can be tricky on some evenings and we very much appreciate your cooperation and understanding. You can also park on the service road on the south side of our building.

DROP OFF/PICK UP

Please view the graphic and read the important information about our drop-off/pick up spot and the flow of traffic in our parking lot.

PLEASE NOTE:

* We ask that you please do not drop off or pick up dancers in front of the doors.

* When picking up at the Dancer Drop Off area, please do not wait at that spot if your dancer is not there and ready to be picked up. Plan to circle the building again or find a parking spot and wait until they are ready to come out to the car.

We have extra shoes at the front counter to borrow in case you forget your dance bag. Please return them at the end of dance class. Has your dancer grown out of their shoes?? Donate them to our borrow bins!
We have extra leotards and tights available for our little dancers to borrow in case of an accident (Just ask at the front desk)
There is a diaper changing deck in the unisex bathroom. Please use the provided diaper pail.
