SPONSORED EVENTS
Miller Symphony Hall's Jazz Upstairs Presents:
Chaise Lounge
* Friday, August 16
* 7:30 pm
* Allentown, PA
Chaise Lounge performs a blend of music that sounds like it was recorded at Capitol Recording Studios in 1962 and somehow found its way to today’s pop charts. You might call it “Early Stereo.” Or perhaps Lounge with a capital “L.” Or maybe just plain enjoyable. It is the combination of five of the Washington area’s top jazz musicians playing sparkling arrangements of standards and original tunes and featuring the soft, luminous vocals of Marilyn Older.
The Jim Thorpe Artist Musician Series Presents:
A.J. Croce
* Friday, August 16
* 8 pm
* Jim Thorpe, PA
According to Willie Nelson, “A.J. Croce has wisdom beyond his years. With his music, he represents his generation with a profound sense of honesty in his lyrics and quality in his delivery. The future of entertainment is safe in his hands!” Some artists are afforded the chance to tell their personal stories as they see fit, at a particular moment when they know the time has come. But for many, there is no choice — the story emerges hardwired to the music and they become forever identified with it no matter how their story may evolve or change.
Craig Thatcher Presents
the Music of Jimi Hendrix
* Saturday, August 17
* 7:30 pm
* Bethlehem, PA
Craig Thatcher has performed in more than 35 different countries, and worked with and/or opened for a number of great artists including Simone, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, John Hammond, Train and more. His tribute shows feature music from some of entertainment’s best, including Jimi Hendrix, the Allman Brothers Band and Eric Clapton.
