Designing Hollywood - Golden Age Costumes from the Gene London Cinema Collection

The Allentown Art Museum presents an exhibition of costumes from the Golden Age of movies, September 29 through December 22. “Designing Hollywood” features 59 memorable outfits worn by Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, James Cagney and many more, in films such as “To Catch a Thief,” “Ben Hur,” “Mildred Pierce” and other classics. There’s a full schedule of related programs too, including a salute to Hess’s department store, free fashion design workshops, and appearances by Gene London.

"Cash Rules Everything Around Me," the winning cream ale homebrew from WDIY’s 4th Annual Homebrew Fest is about to be made available for the public in the taproom of Yergey Brewing in Emmaus! On this edition of the Inside Dish, Michael Drabenstott talks with Yergey Brewing owner Jim Yergey as well as the winning homebrewers, Michael MacCubbin and Jason Bell.

They discuss the process of brewing the recipe on Yergey’s professional system and when you can taste the finished beer.
At the Movies: Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice

"Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice," tells the story behind Ronstadt's career, and her journey in becoming the rock era's first female star to sell out arenas. Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the documentary.

At 2 pm, Philadelphia-based pianist  Justin Solonynka brings his virtuosic blend of folk, rock, and jazz to WDIY for a live in-studio interview and performance. Solonynka will be performing at the Second Sunday Concert Series at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bethlehem on Sunday, Oct. 13.

On the next  Galactic Travel s, host Bill Fox will continue the month-long Special Focus on Modulator Experimental Synthesis Project, a.k.a.  Modulator ESP, whose music has been described as "vintage synth overload to propel you into the outer reaches of the cosmos."
