JUNE 2023 MONTHLY LETTER
We must hold this to heart that we are in this world, but we are not of this world. This is something every believer must understand. When we truly have this conviction that we are not of this world, our life and our mindset change because our focus is only on the things of the kingdom of God.
When anyone gazes at earthly things, this individual takes their eyes from the things of the kingdom of God and their calling. You must not be so focused into the things of this world, because you will lose your interest and purpose in the things of the kingdom.
In Colossians 3:2 tells us to Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
When we set our minds on things of above, our focus and pursuit is on the things of the kingdom of God only, and we will not be distracted by the things of this world. Our focus is on what the Lord has called us to do for His kingdom and nothing else. Do not allow your vocation and or profession to become first than the kingdom.
The kingdom of God must be first in our lives. Jesus reminds this to us in Matthew 6:33, But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
You see, Jesus knew this beforehand. Some would be distracted, looking, and seeking after things, rather than doing the kingdom’s work first. God is not unjust to not give you what you need, especially if you are truly serving Him. He is faithful and just; He won’t forget of your good deeds and bless you. Remember it is He who will add to you!
I have seen how many brethren have gone after things, and they go so far that they lose their fellowship with God, because they do not trust Him. If they pursue the kingdom of God with the same passion, God is faithful and just to reward them.
The Lord is so good that He left us His word to remind every believer to not be distracted or to be going about after the things of this world.
God our Father loves us so much that He does not want any of His children to perish, but He wants us to have eternal life and not only to have eternal life, but to accomplish and fulfill our calling. He does not want His children to be lost because they have chosen the things of this world.
Remember this…Do not love the word or the things in the world. 1 John 2:15
We are not of this world, we are here with only one purpose which is to make a difference in this world, to give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ through our lives.
We are reminded in John 17:16, They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
This is Jesus speaking reminding us as it is written in John 17:18 As You sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. Meaning we are here with only one purpose, to do the will of the Father, to bring more sons and daughters to the kingdom!
Do not be deceived like some. Some have been deceived thinking that doing the will of God is a waste of time. Let me tell you that it’s not so. Serving the Lord is joy, blessings, and fulfillment of life.
Keep your eyes looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2
