SPS United: Jaci Hill, assistant principal at Hillcrest High School

"Hillcrest has always been a tight community and has lived by the motto that we own the Northside. Having a new building has just enhanced the pride that was already there.

There is a desire by our students, staff and community to show off the building by hosting events that were never possible before. The new building, along with winning a district championship in basketball, has moved our students to consider all that Hillcrest can be.

The new classrooms have created a better learning environment for students by providing more space, better light and walls that go all the way up. Our building now reflects who we are and who we want to be."
