United Way Celebrates Robins Financial Credit Union |
For the first time, Robins Financial Credit Union's workplace campaign raised $100,000! And to top it off, they reached this milestone in our United Way of Central Georgia’s 100th Year Anniversary. We appreciate their continuous partnership and their willingness to always step up to help improve the lives of those in our community.
We are grateful to their leadership team Christina O’Brien, President/CEO, and Dee Dee Cote, SVP/Chief Administrative Officer, along with Hillary Bobbitt, Marketing Programs Coordinator, who has also led their United Way campaign efforts for the past 8 years. It is through companies like Robins Financial Credit Union that United Way can financially support 40 programs through 31 local partner agencies and continue our United Way programs & initiatives to meet the needs of those less fortunate. Thank you RFCU for the many years of running a workplace campaign and to all the employees at RFCU who chose to contribute and make the campaign such a success. We celebrate you, your achievements, and this outstanding gift of $100,000 in our 100th year!

Over the MLK Weekend Volunteers Game Out to the Brookdale Resource Center |
At the Center we were fortunate to have several groups and individuals assist us by volunteering their time and talent over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.
Many thanks to Georgia Power for providing lunch from McAllister’s Deli to the Brookdale residence and for also serving the lunch; MerServe and the National Society of Black Engineers for organizing clothing donations; Gloria Stanley for giving a MLK service to our residents; and Lambda Kappa Mu for providing a hot cocoa bar for our staff on MLK day.

Congratulations to Mercer University! |
Mercer University and their United Way Campaign Team had another outstanding campaign year! The 2021-22 Mercer University United Way Workplace Campaign raised a total of $162,356.04! We greatly appreciate Mercer’s continued support, hardworking staff and student volunteers, and their dedication to helping improve lives in our community!

United Way - Jeff Smith Auto Raffle Winner |
The 15th annual United Way - Jeff Smith Auto Raffle winner Cedric Corbin has claimed his prize-winning vehicle. This year, Jeff Smith Automotive offered four vehicle models for the winning ticket holder to pick from and Cedric chose a 2021 Dodge Charger! If you see the shiny white Charger with a large black and red racing stripe driving in the area, give Cedric a thumbs-up for purchasing a $35 raffle ticket and driving off with a brand new car!
We appreciate the efforts Jeff Smith Auto gives each year to help make the auto raffle a success. And a sincere thank you and tremendous gratitude to Jeff Smith for his generous support of United Way, and in giving 100% of the winning vehicle so all funds raised in the raffle can go back into the community. Thanks to all who supported the raffle and helped United Way continue to improve lives.

Last Friday was National 2-1-1 Day! 2-1-1 was able to make 27.8 million connections to critical resources for people in part because of generous sponsors! Thank you to all of the caring businesses who support this service.

Merrie Christmas Project Receives $5,000 |
The Merrie Christmas Project received $5,000 from the Macon Civic Club’s annual fundraising show. Walthall Oil was the revue’s corporate sponsor of the evening that donated an extra $5000 to be given to a charity chosen by a randomly picked audience member. Walthall Oil, a supporter of United Way and The Merrie Christmas Project, presented the check to Mike Kaplan.
We thank everyone with the Macon Civic Club, Walthall Oil, and the bighearted audience member who chose TMCP for this generous gift! This donation will bring lots of joy to many local children and families and will help make their holiday be Merry!
