United Way of Central Georgia Kicks Off 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge
United Way of Central Georgia invites the Central Georgia Community to walk, run, or bike with a purpose during its 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge. Participants in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge are encouraged to raise $100 by creating their own fundraising pages and sharing photos and stories about why they support UWCG - all while walking, running, or riding with a purpose! 
Houston County Commissioners Campaign Hits
Six-Year High in Total Pledges and Donations  
At the Houston County Commissioners' meeting on Tuesday, April 5th, Chairman Tommy Stalnaker signed the campaign check for United Way. The Houston County Board of Commissioners campaign reached a six-year high in pledges and donations. 84% of county employees were involved, ensuring the campaign's success. As the campaign coordinator, Jake Cox provided wonderful incentives that led to an over the top performance.

UWCG Celebrates Volunteer United Week
In celebration of National Volunteer Month, United Way of Central Georgia will be hosting Volunteer United Week from April 17th to 23rd. Our community benefits from the time and energy of thousands of United Way volunteers each year in Central Georgia. UWCG will offer several opportunities to get involved in the community during the week of April 17th.
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds several Central Georgia organizations
Through the American Rescue Plan Act, several counties in Central Georgia have been designated to receive funding under the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).UWCG acts as the administrator for the counties designated to receive funds.
UWCG Staff Member Recognized by GA Department of Public Health
Daniel Charles, UWCG Veterans Navigator and Parents as Teachers Supervisor, has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Public Health for his commitment to strengthening fathers and families in Central Georgia.

A Musical Evening Featuring Dr. Bill Barnes to Support United Way of Central Georgia
In support of United Way of Central Georgia's Read United program, UWCG is inviting the Central Georgia community to a musical evening with Dr. Bill Barnes on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 6:30pm at The Grand. The concert is presented by Piedmont Ortho, which features Macon native and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Bill Barnes. He is well known for his musical talents as a songwriter, musician and solo artist.

Robins Financial Credit Union staff collected and donated items to Brookdale Resource Center for their new laundry and shower facility. Items donated include 1,258 loads of laundry detergent, 433 rolls of toilet paper and 18 pairs of flip-flops. In addition, Robins Financial employees volunteered over 36 hours at Brookdale Resource Center to assist with various needs including cleaning and setting up additional rooms. #LiveUnited #UnitedforCentralGA
