United Way of Central Georgia Awarded $4.4M from Negative Economic Impact Fund
UWCG's flagship reading intervention and tutoring program, Read United, was awarded $722,729 to improve third grade reading proficiency and reduce educational disparities in the region. Brookdale Resource Center was awarded $3,741,517 to increase its capacity to serve people experiencing homelessness.
The most successful ACE Classic Yet!
This year's ACE Classic was a tremendous success! In partnership with Butler Auto Group and our generous community, we raised over $200,000 for mammogram screenings and readings for women with the fewest resources who are uninsured, underinsured, low-income, and unable to receive care. Early detection saves lives!
45th Golden Eagle Award Winners Soar at The Grand  
Since United Way of Central Georgia took over the Golden Eagle Awards from The Telegraph in 2020, we have only been able to honor these outstanding students virtually. However, this year we were able to celebrate their achievements together at the historic Grand Opera House.

Thank you, Twiggs County Schools!
Twiggs County Public Schools raised over $9,000 from their United Way of Central Georgia workplace campaign! The funds will go towards Read United which has benefitted over 100 children at Jeffersonville Elementary School since last year!
Continuation of Funding for The Basics
The Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy and the Get Georgia Reading Campaign recently released its 2022 Collective Impact Grant initiative awardees. The Basics, a program of United Way of Central Georgia, was awarded $10,000 to continue its mission of bolstering brain development for children from birth to age 3.

UWCG's Community Schools United program centers public schools as hubs for communities and combines a rigorous, relevant educational program with extended learning opportunities, family and community engagement, and an infusion of social services. #UnitedforCentralGA
