LEGISLATIVE ALERT

Dear Fellow Home Educators:

We are hearing that HB 5468 (and any of the amendments) may be called for a vote in the House on Thursday. The vaccine bill that has already passed the House will be heard in the Senate. We are also hearing that legislators are noticing a lack of homeschoolers at the capitol. 

Another amendment, LCO 4228 has been drafted as an alternative to LCO 4221.
The most egregious provisions remain:
- ALL parents must provide either public, non-public or "parent managed" education. Effective 2027.
- ALL parents of children 5 years and older shall ANNUALLY file an intent to educate form, choosing between public, non-public and "parent managed" education (Sec 2(c)(1) ) This is now a universal, annual, declaration of intent. Implementation July 1, 2028. There is no grandfathering- only a delay in implementation.
- demonstration of equivalent instruction removed
- State Department of Ed will provide forms for declaration of intent and withdrawal, not guidance. Effective 2027.
- DCF check of every person over age 18 in the home remains, with state preventing withdrawal for families with any adult on the abuse and neglect registry or who are under DCF investigation - a clear violation of both FERPA and 4th amendment protection from warrantless searches. Effective July 1, 2027.
The bill is now a clear picture of the globalist goals of its proponents, who believe the state owns our children and that we hold them only by their permission.

Our message now is simple: Kill the Bill!

A vote for the bill is an abdication of legislators' roles to represent their constituents and benefit the public.
Please plan to visit the Capitol on Thursday. 

Please wear signs on your shirts with a simple message: Say No to Homeschool Bill 5468! The capitol will be crowded with opponents of the vaccine bills. We are asking everyone to flood the phone lines of the Democrat Representatives, asking them to Kill the Bill.

1.CALL TODAY as soon as you receive this. KEEP CALLING throughout tomorrow. We are calling all the Democrat Representatives, who are debating the bill. We know where the Republicans stand.
 Keep it simple: Vote No on HB 5468 (no matter what amendments are offered).
