A YEAR AGO IN MARCH, we were pivoting to a new model of helping feed children and responding to school closings during the pandemic. Without hesitation, YOU, our supporters stepped up.
We quickly found creative ways to pack and distribute food safely to children. With the help of amazing partners, supporters and volunteers, we were able to feed more children than ever before when schools closed due to Covid-19, and into the summer. We not only were able to meet the needs in lockstep with BPS, we more than doubled distribution at the most crucial of times. The pandemic highlighted just how vulnerable food insecure children are.
Now, as we enter our 11th year of service to Brevard County, the number of children that teachers tell us are in need of weekend meals continues to increase. Organizations that rely on our help include Club Esteem, Cocoa PAL, and Brevard Cares. There is also mobile delivery to hungry children in Titusville. Through it all, TCHP has continued to be a constant for kids during a time of great uncertainty. It would not have been possible without you.
Many thanks to those who have dedicated all or part of their stimulus or refund to help feed hungry children. For those who want to help, it costs less than 42 cents per day - $12.50 per month or $150 per year, to feed a child on the weekends. If you want a quick redirect to the donation link, click here.
Thank you each and everyday for helping provide a nutritional foundation for many children locally who would otherwise go hungry on weekends. We are truly blessed to live in such a supportive community!
