Summer Institute for Ministry: Rest - Renew - Reframe
August 9 - 12, 2021
Presented by United Lutheran Seminary, in partnership with ELCA Regions 7 & 8
Feeling emotionally spent, spiritually absent, and heading toward burnout? You are not alone! Join us for the 2021 ULS Summer Institute at Claggett Retreat Center in the rolling hills of Maryland where we’ll begin to breathe out the feelings of guilt, cynicism, and confrontation, and explore ways to be resilient, hold holy space, address struggles, and seek wellness even in the face of trauma and grief. Pastor Richard Jorgensen and Deacon Marsha Roscoe are among the retreat leaders. Join us for this time with other rostered ministers to gather in person to rest, renew, reframe, and breathe in God’s calling for us in this time.

Leadership Training Camp Registration is Open
Our synod’s annual Leadership Training Camp (LT Camp), scheduled for July 25-30, 2021, is currently registering youth in grades 9-12. Young leaders must exhibit gifts for leadership and be recommended by a congregation youth leader or pastor. Youth who attend will explore their leadership gifts and how God might be using those gifts in service in their home, school, church and vocational lives as they strive to carry out God’s mission in the world. LT Camp is celebrating its 29th summer and is offered tuition-free thanks to the generous donations of staff and alumni. To learn more about the camp and to download the recommendation/application, visit our webpage. Our staff are taking all necessary precautions to offer camp in alignment with all CDC pandemic guidelines. Registration closes July 1, 2021.

June 3, 10, 17, & 24; 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. Via Webcast
You like to be productive, so you’ve learned to stay busy. It’s nice to feel needed, so you never say “no.” Your job is to care for everyone, so you neglect your own well-being. Until you can’t. In the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the ELCA, we feed the hungry as we have been fed by Christ. We welcome with full participation and inclusion all who are seeking God’s love and grace. We welcome all because God welcomes all, regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, or relationship status. We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstances or anything that too often divides us. Our unity is in Jesus Christ.
