Dear Friend,

For more than 15 years, Oregonians have lived under threat of the gargantuan, proposed Jordan Cove liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal and 200-mile pipeline ruining our shores and waterways, and harming the climate, wildlife, and our livelihoods. Landowners along the proposed pipeline route have lived in fear of the federal government seizing their land for the project. This morning, the sun rose on an Oregon free of every last one of these threats, thanks to tireless advocacy by WELC and our partners.

Late yesterday, Jordan Cove LNG developers told the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission it would not move forward with the project. This is largely thanks to WELC and our partners' work to convince regulators at the local and state levels to hold strong and demand the proposal meet water quality standards and pollution limits. Read the story from Oregon Public Broadcasting.

This victory was hard fought, and the proposal may rise from the ashes again someday — this is the third time we have defeated it. But for now, rest easy knowing Oregon's coast, waterways, and climate are safe from this ecosystem-altering threat.

Thank you for all of your support—our victories are your victories!
Sincerely,
