Senior Post-Graduation Plans

Katelyn Nguyen

Most of my summer after graduation will be catching up with friends and family before beginning work at Epic Systems in Madison, Wisconsin. After school ends in June, I'll be going on a trip to Vietnam and Thailand with a group of friends until July. After I return, I'll be dividing my time between seeing my family and friends back home, working out the logistics of the move up to Wisconsin, and possibly doing art commissions or at least creating more content. Starting September, I'll be working as a technical solutions engineer to diagnose and correct software complications that operators at hospitals or clinics run into using Epic's applications. I'm not completely sure about my plans looking farther into the future -- I think life is much more fun when things are up in the air. It might be interesting to take night classes in animation and see if a life pivot calls to me, or maybe even consider returning back to academia? Either way, I'm excited to take my first steps out of college, and I'm forever grateful to the WEAA for supporting me throughout the journey to get to this point.

WEAA Celebrates 153 Years

WEAA was founded in 1871 by Frances Willard and eight other women who were committed to supporting young women scholars at Northwestern University in need of financial assistance. Frances Willard was best known as an American educator, temperance reformer, and women's suffragist. She became the national president of Woman's Christian Temperance Union in 1879 and remained president until her death in 1898.

WEAA Fundraising Campaign

For most of its first 100 years, the WEAA operated a residence for women students at Northwestern University. Since 1968, the association has provided tuition grants to women students at Northwestern who meet the WEAA criteria of superior academic ability, personal potential, and financial need.

Your gift continues the support of Women Investing in Women for current and future scholars.
