New Board Member

We welcome Leon Tai (Class of 2017) to our board. She was a NU History major who has gone on to complete a Master of Arts in International Conflict & Security with a second degree in Political Strategy & Communication at the University of Kent in Brussels School of International Studies. Leon brings many skills that will be useful to us and to our scholars. More information will follow in her website bio. Committee and mentor class assignments will be determined by October.

Thank You

Thank you, Carolyn

We extend a special thank you to our outgoing board member, Carolyn Utech, for her support and board work throughout the years. Her time, knowledge and skills have been invaluable to WEAA.

Carolyn joined the WEAA board in 2010 and served on the Scholar Engagement and Educational Aid Committees.

Best wishes, Carolyn, in your future endeavors.

Thank you, Vanessa

Vanessa has decided to step down from serving on the WEAA Board after the recent and sudden passing of her husband. Vanessa joined the WEAA board in 2018 and has served as Secretary and chair of the Communication Committee. She has also served on the Educational Aid Committee.

Thank you, Vanessa, for your dedication and time on the board. We wish you the best. You will be missed.

Mentor From Anywhere

You can be helpful to our current scholars and recent graduates by becoming an alumnae mentor. What does this require? Simply email us at weaa1871@gmail.com with your degree and/or career area. Your information will be made available to scholars who may be interested in contacting you with questions about your career area.

WEAA Fundraising Campaign

For most of its first 100 years, the WEAA operated a residence for women students at Northwestern University. Since 1968, the association has provided tuition grants to women students at Northwestern who meet the WEAA criteria of superior academic ability, personal potential, and financial need.
