WEAVING WOMEN TOGETHER
Starting January 17, experience Nikki Weaver's journey of discovery and transformation as she uncovers pieces of her own past and present through a community of other women.

In October 2015, Nikki sent a letter to 60 women - some she knew and some she didn’t - requesting a piece of fabric and an explanation of its sentimental value. The result is  Weaving Women Together , an entirely female-driven piece about the loss of her mother and how Nikki has collected her in other women, and a magic skirt made entirely of the tales - and fabric - shared by these women.

Directed by Gretchen Corbett, this production of Weaving Women Together is a labor of love in process. While each performance will be fully staged, the show may change from night to night over the limited, two-week run.

To see more photos and to read about the process in Nikki’s own words, visit www.portlandplayhouse.org/weavingwomen and like the Facebook event page.
Join us on Monday, January 15
Please join us to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a group reading of his "I Have a Dream..." speech.

All are welcome. No acting experience is required.

Attendees will have the opportunity to read part of the speech aloud, sentence by sentence.

Gather with Playhouse staff, artists and community members as we remember how far we've come and acknowledge just how far we have to go.

Following the reading, we will share a potluck meal together. This event is free, but please RSVP below.
