Sunday was a joyful day as we launched a new year of life together. The staff have awaited this year with great anticipation knowing that this year will be one of revelation for us. We recognize how drastically gatherings, commitments, priorities, and schedules have changed as a result of the last couple of years. Rhythms that used to be second nature now feel unfamiliar. As individuals and as a community, we're experiencing the aftermath of a foundation that's shifted beneath us. And that's exactly why I've asked you to recommit to this community this year. Show up to worship. Choose a way to involve yourself beyond Sunday morning through service or formation opportunities. Reconnect with members of this community you haven't seen in a while.
How we gather has changed in the last years, as have our capabilities and capacity for gathering. We are eager to explore what this means for us as a church community. What worship and connection opportunities are meaningful? What programs are volunteers willing to commit to? What opportunities are compelling enough that people want to physically attend? What does meaningful connection among this community look like beyond Sunday morning?
These are all big questions and none of them have simple answers. But I want you to know that these are the questions we're asking and we want you to participate in the conversation. For the next five weeks during the Connection hour at 10:00 AM (in Room 131), we'll have conversations about how this community can best connect you to God and to others, creating transformational experiences of faith for all. I hope you'll make your voice heard. These conversations will ultimately guide the work and priorities of staff and leaders as we seek to spark faith that connects, enriches, empowers, and sustains, no matter where you are on your journey.
I invite you to respond to a few questions to get you thinking about how you are connected to this community and to God using the button below. We want to hear what you have to say!
