A Very Special Thank You

Our congregation is so blessed by those who share their gifts with others. From the flower arrangements to the beautiful voices to the careful candle-lighting, every age and every talent is a blessing. A recent example of this is our main office hallway. Josh Grotheer has spent countless hours lately, quietly roaming the halls with thoughtful diligence. Josh volunteered to commemorate our 175th anniversary in words and pictures, creating a beautiful timeline of the life of our church. Please join us in thanking him for sharing his gifts with all of us!

Carry Me Home: 175 Years of Gospel Songs

Sunday, February 22 at 4:00 p.m.

In celebration of our church’s 175th anniversary this year, we invite you to an evening of music that traces the living faith of our congregation across generations. “Carry Me Home: 175 Years of Gospel Song” explores the music that would have shaped worship in south Georgia from the early 19th century through the early decades of the 20th century, reflecting the joys and the trials of our shared history.

As the evening progresses, the music moves forward in time, embracing the warmth and assurance of late 19th century gospel hymns and early Southern gospel songs--music that carried faith into a new century while remaining rooted in the past. Featuring the Isle of Hope Men’s Chorus, reed organ, and violin, this program is not so much a concert, but a musical remembrance--an offering of gratitude for the generations who have worshiped, suffered, rejoiced, and believed within our walls.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate 175 years of faith remembered, faith sung, and faith still alive!

Lunch Bunch Presents:

A Note from Meghan

After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I have decided to step into a new season, which has resulted in my decision to resign from my role as Communications Coordinator for this wonderful congregation. This was not an easy decision, and I am deeply grateful for the grace, flexibility, and support shown to me—especially during a time of transition in my life. That care has meant more to me than I can express.

Serving Isle of Hope UMC and supporting its mission has been the driving motivation behind my work, and that will always stay with me. No matter where life leads me, I will always support and believe in the mission of this church. It has been a true gift to learn, grow, and serve alongside such a faithful and caring church family. From making music to making posters, it has been such an adventure at Isle of Hope UMC. Thank you all for loving me so well!

With heartfelt gratitude,

Meghan Hollamon
