WECC invites you to join us at our upcoming Reliability & Security Workshop on March 17-18 in San Diego. Gain essential insights into the Western Interconnection at this two-day event, which will cover risk-based content designed to tackle the challenges our industry faces daily. Whether you are new to oversight practices, or are a seasoned expert, there will be tracks catered to your level and interests.

Workshop Format:

Day One:

We will kick off the workshop with our general sessions that will offer information on risk trends, insights into WECC's oversight approach, enforcement philosophy, and abeyance principles.

Day Two:

Choose between three specialized tracks:

  • WECC Foundations: Explore reliability culture, internal controls, quality evidence and interviews, what to expect in monitoring activities, and an introduction to enforcement fundamentals.
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP): Dive into CIP-focused topics, including Reliability Standards CIP-002, CIP-003, CIP-008, and CIP-014, as well as insider threats, analyzing network activity, and risk management for third-party cloud services.
  • Operations & Planning (O&P): Learn about O&P-focused topics, including PRC-028, PRC-029, PRC-030 implementation, generator cold weather constraints, WECC's assurance program, pre-registration expectations, and risk management at WECC.

These tracks will have focused content tailored to the track specialties. Each track will explore standards, compliance elements, and will offer access to valuable resources and tools from WECC programs. All sessions will be recorded and made available following the workshop.
