Join us for the in-person NERC Self-Report and Mitigation Training (formerly WECC Enforcement Fundamentals) a two-day event tailored for compliance professionals new to NERC requirements or those seeking to advance their expertise. This training offers an overview of the framework in the NERC Self-Reporting and Mitigation Guide. Participants will benefit from shared best practices and strategies provided by WECC's Compliance and Enforcement staff, including hands-on guidance for using NERC Align and the Secure Evidence Locker (SEL). Preliminary Reliability Guideline: Risk Mitigation for Emerging Large Loads New


Comment Period Open through December 19

The NERC Large Loads Task Force (LLTF) has developed a preliminary Reliability Guideline, Risk Mitigation for Emerging Large Loads. This guideline offers recommendations tailored to various categories of stakeholders involved in development, interconnection, and operation of large loads.


The LLTF is requesting feedback from members and observers of the Synchronized Measurement Working Group (SMWG) with subject matter expertise in oscillations or synchronized measurement devices. The comment period is open through December 19, 5:00 p.m. EST. Reponses should be emailed to Evan Mickelson.

NERC Releases New Study on Blackstart Resource Readiness in Extreme Cold New

NERC and regional entity staff have completed a comprehensive study on blackstart resource availability and readiness in the Eastern and Western interconnections. This joint initiative focuses on the availability and readiness of natural gas and dual-fuel blackstart resources to operate during extreme cold weather conditions.


This study was conducted in response to Recommendation 3 from Winter Storm Elliot Report: Inquiry into Bulk-Power System Operation During December 2022.

Reliability and Security Technical Committee (RSTC) Work Plan Summit

The NERC RSTC Work Plan Summit, hosted by Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), will take place January 2022, 2026.


The summit will be an in-person meeting for RSTC members, RSTC sub-group leadership, and NERC staff. A virtual option will be available for observers. The meeting materials will be posted two weeks prior to the meeting.
