^New Q3 2026 Oversight Trends Update

The Oversight Trends Update for Q3 2026 is now available. This report dives into crucial reliability and security oversight trends to provide interconnection-wide context for registered entity compliance programs. If you have any questions, reach out to oversight@wecc.org. 

^New WECC Standards Committee Soliciting Nominations

The WECC Standards Committee (WSC) is soliciting nominees to fill the following Standard Voting Segments (SVS):

• SVS 2 — Regional Transmission Organizations/ Independent System Operators 
• SVS 3 — Load-Serving Entities 
• SVS 5 — Generators 
• SVS 6 — Broker/Aggregator/Marketers 
• SVS 10 — Regional Entities 

Nominations will be accepted through 6:00 p.m. MDT on September 8. If multiple nominees are submitted for the same segment, that segment will be balloted, otherwise balloting will be waived.

The term of service for these SVSs begins at the close of the September Board Meeting.

Nominations can be submitted by completing a WECC DT Nomination Form located on the Standards Under Development page. Select “WECC-0000: WECC Standards Committee” in the Tracking Number drop-down menu.

By accepting a nomination to serve on the WSC each nominee agrees to the terms and conditions for eligibility stated in the WSC Charter.

^New PRC-029-1 Outreach Materials

The slides and recording from our recent PRC-029-1 outreach event, which focused on ERO Enterprise CMEP Practice Guide: PRC-029-1 Enforcement Discretion, are now available. 

The session reviewed the approach — including phased implementation, Enforcement Discretion, and how WECC will manage associated processes — to help entities be successful when the standard goes into effect on October 1.

Comments on Proposed Revisions to ROP — Computational Loads

NERC is requesting comments on the proposed changes to the Rules of Procedure (ROP) to develop new entity types, called Computational Load Owner and Computational Load Operator, by September 18.

Comment Periods on Proposed Revisions to ROP and Standards Process Manual

Two formal comment periods from the Modernization of Standards Processes and Procedures (MSPP) initiative, proposed revisions to the Rules of Procedure and the Standards Process Manual, are open through October 26.
